The Café Bon Ton Blend is roasted and blended weekly exclusively for us by Dean Morgan of Morgans Green Coffee.
It is a medium bodied, mildly sweet coffee with a fruity mid palate balanced by caramel overtones and a clean fresh finish. Weekly deliveries ensure our coffee is at its peak and freshly ground to order.
It is a blend designed to achieve the maximum balance between complexity and smoothness.
It is composed of the following coffees.
Guatemalan Huehuetenango - A high grown coffee from the area of Huehuetenango. This area is in the Cuchumatnaes Mountains near the border of Mexico. The coffee is grown from 1500 – 2000 metres. This area has a distinct wet and dry season with a long ripening period resulting in a pronounced clean citrus acidity, medium body and snappy finish.
Brasil Macubas Ruby – A fine estate pulped natural coffee. This coffee has a medium body with a sweet chocolate character.
Sumatra Mandeling ‘Blue Batak’ – A double picked sumatra with large bean size and clean cup. This coffee is big bodied with a woody forest floor aroma.
Ethiopian Limu – A washed Ethiopen coffee with a floral fruit aroma and berry like acidity with a slightly ‘winey’ taste Used to give floral aromatics and high notes to the espresso.
Indian Monsoon Malabar Nuggets – An exrtra large bold bean that has been ‘monsooned’ or aged. It has low acidity big syrupy body with notes of indian spice. Used to give extra body and to block acidity from the higher grown coffees. This is one of the great coffees to come out of india.
